Pumpkin Carving Contest
October 2007

Recently, Celina High Academic and Motivational Promoters (CHAMP) sponsored a pumpkin carving contest at Celina High School to recognize students who show initiative and creative talent.  Wal-Mart generously donated 25 pumpkins that were carved by high school students during the Art Walk by Pumpkin Glow.  Those pumpkins were sold that evening, and the proceeds went to CHAMP to help pay for the pumpkin carving contest.

CHS students were encouraged to carve pumpkins and submit their entries at school, where they were on exhibit in the display case in the cafeteria the week of Halloween.  Winners of the $50 cash prizes are pictured above:  Maggie Miller (scariest pumpkin); Alicia Zacharias (most creative pumpkin); Taryn Koontz (most traditional pumpkin).
