2023-2024 Drug Use Prevention Activities/Events
- September - May: 3rd & 4th grade montly JEDI (Junior Educational Drug & Decision Initiative) lessons - including a pre- and post-test
- October: 3rd & 4th grade (county-wide) classroom drug prevention picture contest
- October: Drug epidemic information given to all CES staff members
- October: Red Ribbon Week at CES
- Day 1: RRW Assembly
- Day 3: Health Fair for 3rd-6th grade at Celina Intermediate School
- Days 1-5: dress-up days, drug information on morning announcements, students sign a school-wide pledge to be drug-free, drug prevention activities given to students (i.e. word searches, cross word puzzles, coloring pages, etc.)
- May: guest speaker on drug prevention
- May: School Counselor, Principal, & Specials Teachers review data collected from JEDI pre- and post-tests; Plan drug prevention education for 2023-2024 school year
Ohio Joint Study Committee
As part of the Ohio Joint Study Committee's effort on Drug Use Prevention Education, all of the 3rd and 4th grade students will be receiving lessons every 3 weeks on drug use prevention in their classrooms.
