PSAT – 2007

Who?  Juniors who plan to attend a 4-year college

What?  The PSAT/NMSQT measures critical thinking skills that are important for success in college, including critical reading, math problem solving, and writing skills.  Taking the PSAT enables students to:

·        Get feedback about critical academic skills

·        Seek information from colleges

·        Enter scholarship competitions

·        Prepare for the SAT Reasoning Test

·        Initiate the college planning process

The PSAT/NMSQT is the qualifying test that students must take to enter the National Merit Scholarship Corporation competitions.

When?  Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007  Periods 1-4

Where?  Celina High School Lecture Hall

How?  Registration will take place September 13-21.  Students need to register with Mrs. Booher in the guidance office.  The cost is $13.00, payable by check made out to Celina High School.  Students must pay at the time they register for the test.  Students will receive a practice test to assist them in preparing for the PSAT.
