OSBA 2011 Media Honor Roll Recipients HonoredThe Celina School Board is proud to announce that 4 local journalists/media members from Celina have been chosen for the OSBA 2011 Media Honor Roll. From WCSM they are:Kevin SandlerandJohn Coe;and from The Daily Standard they are:Amy KronenbergerandFrank Snyder. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the OSBA Media Honor Roll. Since its inception, the honor roll has provided hundreds of Ohio school districts with a valuable tool to help them build and maintain positive working relationships with their local news media. The program’s purpose is to recognize journalists who report fairly and accurately on their local schools. OSBA also recognizes the honorees in its Journal magazine and on its website. The program recognizes media representatives in print, radio and television. Winners are chosen because they:
• work to get to know the superintendent, as well as the district’s mission and goals;
• report school news in a fair, accurate and balanced manner;
• give a high profile to positive news about schools;
• maintain a policy of “no surprises,” by always giving school officials the opportunity to comment on information to be aired or published.
