EVALUATION - VIDEO INTERVIEW 

 

 

1.                Introduction.  Does the student introduce the subject and the person being interviewed adequately to the class, or did the student just launch into the interview without any indication of who was being interviewed, why they in particular were being interviewed, what the interviewee’s background /experience is, how that experience/background bears upon the subject?

2.                Presentation.

a.      Does there appear to have been adequate advance preparation, or does the interview appear to have been thrown together with no planning, forethought, rehearsal?

b.      Does the student’s interview questions reflect an  understanding of the subject matter? (from research)

c.       Has the student chosen the interviewee well?  Does the interviewee have knowledge of the subject and a willingness to share that knowledge?

d.      Conclusion.  Does the student provide his/her own conclusions about the subject, based on information gleaned from the interview and the research?  (This may be provided either on the video, or to the class after the video has played.)

 

3.                Research Notes/Copies/Documentation. Does the paperwork supplied provide specific background information about the subject of the interview?  Did the student actually read the information and use it in shaping the interview?

 

4.                Written Conclusion.  The student should type out in paragraph form his/her conclusions, to be handed in with the research (3.)
