University Of Findlay H S Indoor Meet 2019

Four Celina H S Tracksters opened the 2020 Indoor season at the University of Findlay's H S Series #3 Meet on January 26.  'Top Dog' performance was turned in by Jordan Song, who placed 3rd in the Triple Jump School .

Regional 2019

Bulldog Track & Field Season comes to an end at Regional!
 
The 2019 CHS Track & Field season came to an end May 22-25 as five Bulldog Athletes competed at their Regional Championship Meets.  The goal at Regional was to place in the top 4 in an event to advance to the State Championship Meet. 
 
The Boys competed in Division I at Amherst on Wednesday, May 22.  Drake Langenkamp threw a personal best of 147' 11" in the discus to place 8th in the field of 16.  Kyler Bourne cleared 13' 6" in the pole vault to finish 9th.
 
For the Gals, competing in Division II at Piqua, Olivia Rider went over a best height of  4' 10" bar in the high jump to tie for 12th.  Makenna Klingshirn ran 17.21 for the 100m hurdles, finishing 16th.  Olivia and Makenna competed, May 23.  Two days later, may 25, Brooke Robbins narrowly missed earning a trip to State as she placed in a tie for 5th, clearing 9'6" in the pole vault.

DISTRICT 2019

Five Bulldog Athletes Advance to Regional Championships!
 
May 15 and 17 Celina's Boy and Girl Track Teams went their separate ways as each competed in their respective District Championship.   The Guys headed to Findlay for the Division I meet, while the Gals competed in Defiance's Division II District.  The goal...to finish in the top 4 of an event to advance to the May 22-25 Regional Meets.
 
In Findlay, 4 CHS Men scored, with 2 earning the right to compete in the D-I Amherst Regional, May 22, 24.  Kyler Bourne and Drake Langenkamp got the Dogs of to a good start with 3rd place results.  Kyler tied the 'School Record' in the pole vault, clearing 14'3".  Drake threw the discus a personal best 147' 5".  Kyler and Drake head to Amherst Wednesday the 22nd.  Brayden Shaw broke his own 'Freshman School Record' by about 3 seconds, in the 800m run with a clocking of 2:02.24. His time was 7th best in the 16 man field.  Seth Huston wrapped up his H S career with a 6th place in the shot put at 46' 8.75".  The 17 points earned by the quartet put CHS 14th of 16 schools.
 
The Defiance District saw the Runnin' Women score 26 points from 8 events, good for 12th of the 19 teams.  Three Ladies will have their season extended to the May 23, 25 Piqua D-II Regional, by virtue of their top 4 placings.  Olivia Rider cleared 4' 10" for 3rd in the high jump.  Brooke Robbins improved her personal best by 8" in the pole vault after she soared over 10' 4".  She took 3rd place points.  Makenna Klingshirn ran 16.49 in her 100m hurdle final, good for 4th.  Olivia and Makenna compete in Piqua, Thursday, May 23.  Brooke vaults on Saturday the 25th.  Other Lady Dogs finishing among the top 8 scoring spots were: Kayla McCormick (7th in the vault 9' 0", 8th in the 100m hurdles 17.50), Caleigh Ross (6th in the 3200m run 12:34.14, a season best), Caleigh, Zoey Burns, Joscelyn Dameron, Emma Lutz (7th in the 4 x 800m relay 10:48.54), and Kayla Brunswick, Olivia, Rose McGohan, Reilly Cox (8th in the 4 x 100m relay 54.63).

Western Buckeye League 2019

Girls 4th, Boys 5th at Western BUckeye League Championship Meet!
Olivia Rider and Kyler Bourne WIN individual event titles! 
 
Celina's Track & Field Contingent began post season action May 8 and 10 at the annual Western Buckeye League Championship meet.  The 10 WBL schools converged on the St Marys Memorial H S track for the two day affair.  By Meets end, Defiance Girls and Van Wert Boys earned WBL Titles!  The Runnin' Bulldogs finished 4th in the Girls division and 5th in the Boys.  Despite the final team placings both the Gals and Guys had excellent outings!
 
Wednesday's action included CHS's two individual event wins.  Olivia Rider picked up the Girls only championship as she won the high jump with a clearance of 5' 0".  A little later that day, Kyler Bourne continued his winning ways in the pole vault as he claimed the pole vault top spot with a winning height of 13' 9".  Seth Huston had a nice day, taking 2nd in the shot put.  The quartet of Caleigh Ross, Kennedy Newell, Joscelyn Dameron, and Emma Lutz combined for a 3rd place result in the 4 x 800m relay, knocking over :20 from their previous best  time.
 
Friday's top three scoring events for the Bulldogs included runner-up placings from Makenna Klingshirn, Brooke Robbins, and Drake Langenkamp.  Makenna crossed 2nd in the 100m hurdles.  Brooke 2nd in the pole vault with a career best vault.  Drake was 2nd in the discus.  Third place points came from Ethan Ly in the 3200m run with a personal best time and Brayden Shaw who broke a 32 year old Ccelina H S freshman record in the 800m run.  The Gals 4 x 100 relay of Kayla Brunsiwck, Olivia Rider, Rose McGohan, Reilly Cox crossed the line 3rd.

Mercer County Meet 2019

Men and Women finish 3rd at the Mercer County Meet!
Crown 4 County Individual Champions.
 
Tuesday and Thursday, April 30, May 2 Celina Track finished its regualer season at the annual Mercer County Meet, hosted by Coldwater H S.  Both the Guys and Gals finished 3rd of the six competing schools.  Marion Local won the Boys title, while Coldwater took the Girls.
 
Leading the way for Celina were individual event County Champions: Kyler Bourne in the pole vault. Olivia Rider in the high jump, Drake Langenkamp in the discus, and Ethan Ly in the 3200m run.  Runner up placings came from Ly in the 1600m run, Brayden Shaw in the 800m run, Seth Huston in the shot put, and Emma Lutz in the 800m run.  The quartet of Ly, Shaw, Jacob Klosterman and Ryan McDonough crossed 2nd in the 4 x 800m relay.  Third place finishewrs were: Karissa Hoying in the long jump, Brooke Robbins in the pole vault, Makenna Klingshirn in the 100m hurdles, Lutz in the 1600m run, as well as the 4 x 100m relay of Rose McGowan, Nicole Fennig, Reilly Cox, Kayla Brunswick and the 4 x 400m relay of Bourne, Shaw, Chase Preston, Collin Harris.

New Haven Invitational 2019

Runnin' Women take 3rd, Men 7th at the New Haven (IN) Invitational.

Friday evening, April 26, Celina's track contingent crossed the Ohio/Indiana border for competition in the New Haven Invitational.  2019 marks the first time for CHS in the meet.  Eleven schools (9 Indiana, 2 Ohio) battled for championshiop bragging rights.  In a very competitive  meet, Celina's Lady Dogs earned a 3rd place result, with the Guys taking 7th.  Ft Wayne Bishop Dwenger took the Gals division, with Leo 2nd and CHS 3rd.  On the Guys side, Ft Wayne South Side was on top, with Dwenger, 2nd, and Ft Wayne Concordia Lutheran 3rd.

'Top Dog' performances came from a number of Bulldogs.  Kyler Bourne and Brooke Robbins won pole vault events for Celina's only event wins.  Second place points came from Makenna Klingshirn  in the 100m hurdles and Seth HUston in the shot put.  Kayla McCormick (pole vault), Olivia Rider (high jump), Drake Langenkamp (discus) and the 4 x 800m relay quartet of Caleigh Ross, Joscelyn Dameron, Kennedy Newell, Emma Lutz were 3rd place finishers.

Saint Marys, Shawnee Tri Meet 2019

 Runnin' Bulldogs wrap up 'dual/tri meet' schedule.
 
Tuesday, April 23, Celina's Runnin' Bulldogs wrapped up their 'dual/tri meet' portion of the schedule, with a tri meet against Saint Marys and Shawnee.  St Marys, host of the 2019 Western Buckeye League Championship Meet, hosted Tuesday contest.
 
The Boys finished a 6-3 dual meet record with their 2nd place finish Tuesday.  Shawnee won the meet with 74.5 points, CHS was 2nd with 58, with St Marys 3rd at 42.5.  On the Girls side, St Marys took the top spot with 67.  Shawnee was 2nd at 64, with the Runnin' Women earning 44.  The 3rd place result for the Gals ended a 14 year unbeaten streak, dating back to the final meet of the 2005 season.
 
Ethan Ly lead the Guys with a pair of individual wins, and a relay win.  He crossed first in the 1600m run, 3200m run, and 4 x 800m relay.  Brayden Shaw won the 800m run, Kyle Bourne the pole vault, Drake Langenkamp the discus, and Chase Preston the 400m dash.
 
For the Gals, Brooke Robbins collected first place points in the 100m hurdles and the pole vault.  Stephanie Wadsworth took the top spot on both the shot put and discus.

Elida, Lima Senior Tri Meet 2019

 Dogs WIN tri meet with Elida and Lima Senior!
 
Tuesday, April 16, Celina's track contingent hosted Elida and Lima Senior for its final home meet of the season.  Sunny warm breezy conditions were the order of the day as the Runnin' Bulldogs WON both the Boys and Girls competitions.  The Guys totalled 78 points, to Elida's 49 and Lima Senior's 47,  The Girls finished in the same order, with CHS having 82, Elida 67, and Lima Senior 22.
 
Highlighting the day's events was Kyler Bourne's career best in the pole vault, clearing 14' 0".  He attempted a school record 14' 4", but failed to clear on his three attempts.  CHS individual wins came from double event champions Makenna Klingshirn (100m hurdlers, 300m hurdles) and Ethan Ly (1600m run and 3200m run).  Emma Lutz took first in the 1600m run, Caleigh Ross the 3200m run, Olivia Rider the high jump, Isaac Connolly the high jump, Seth Huston the shot put, Drake Langenkamp the discus, and Brayden Shaw the 800m run.  Both 4 x 800 relays crossed first to go with the Girls 4 x 400 relay win.

Napoleon Invitational 2019

Girls 4th, Boys 7th at the Napoleon Inv.
 
Saturday morning, April 13 Celina's Runnin' Bulldogs traveled north to Napoleon for the Annual Napoleon Invitational.  Eight teams took part in both the Boys and Girls divisions.  Sunny skys and a light wind greated the athletes on a nice day for track & field.   By meet's end the CHS Runnin' Women earned enough points to place 4th in the final 'team' standings.  The Bulldog Men finished 7th.  Eastwood captured both the Gals and Guys Championship trophies.
 
Celina's 'Top Dog' performances came from three individual event champions.  Olivia Rider got things off on the right foot as she WON the first completed event of the day, the girls high jump, clearing a personal best 5' 0".  Brooke Robbins followed that with a career tying best 9' 6" clearance to WIN the pole vault.  Kyle Bourne matched Brooke's pole vault feat, WINNING the guys vault with a clearance of 13'6".  Ethan Ly and Seth Huston picked up runner-up points as Ethan crossed 2nd in the 3200m run, with Seth 2nd in the shot put.  Kayla McCormick was 2nd in the girls pole vault.  Chase Preston earned the bronze medal for the 400m dash.  
 
The Gals sprint relays had a nice day as the 4 x 100m quartet of Kayla Brunswick, Nicole Fennig, Olivia Rider, Reilly Cox took 2nd and the 4 x 200m foursome of Kayla, Reilly, Brooke Robbins, Kenzie Conn placed 3rd.

Crestview, Van Wert Tri Meet 2019

Runnin' Women WIN tri meet vs Crestview and Van Wert!
Guys defeat Crestview, fall to Van Wert. 
 
Celina's Tracksters hit the road for the first time in 2019, Tuesday, April 9, as they made the short trip north to Van Wert.  Crestview joined the Dogs and host Cougars for a tri meet.  Sunny. but windy conditions were the order of the day as action began.  In a closely contested Girls meet, CHS came out on top, narrowly outpointing Van Wert.  The Runnin' Women amassed 86 points to VW's 79.  Crestview was a distant 3rd with 6.  On the Boys side of the ledger, VW came out on top, scoring 95, to Celina's 52 and Crestview's 28.
 
On the day, the Green and White of CHS won 9 of the 34 contested events.  Earning first place points were double winner Kyler Bourne (300h and pole vault), Brooke Robbins (pole vault), Isaac Connolly (long jump), Reilly Cox (long jump), Kayla McCormick (100m hurdles), Zoey Burns (400 dash), the quartets of Kennedy Newell, Josceelyn Dameron, Caleigh Ross, Emma Lutz in the 4 x 800 relay, and Kayla Brunswick, Nicole Fennig, Rose McGowen, Reilly Cox in the 4 x 100 relay.

Celina Relays 2019

Runnin' Men WIn the Celina Relay Championship.  Women finish 3rd!
 
On a perfect night for athetics, Friday, April 5, eight schools converged on the CHS track & field complex for particpation in the annual Celina Relays.  By meet's end the host Bulldog Men earned enough points to finish atop the 'team' standings.  Celina scored 105, 25 more than runner-up Bryan.  For their efforts, the Ladies placed 3rd.  Coldwater won the Girls division with 102.  Brayn was 2nd wirh 69, followed by the Runnin' Women of CHS with 65.
 
The meet consisted of eight different running relays and 6 field event relays in which competitor's efforts added together with teammates. 
 
The Green and White took first place points in 7 events: Girls 4 x 1600 (Emma Lutz, Kennedy Newell, Caleigh Ross, Joscelyn Dameron), Boys 4 x 800 (Brayden Shaw, Noah Shrock, Ryan McDonough, Jacob Klosterman), Boys 4 x 300 shuttle hurdles (Jaxson Silliman, Grant Grieshop, Collin Harris, Kyler Bourne), Girls 4 x 300 shuttle hurdles (Kayla McCormick, Olivia Rider, Kayla Brunswick, Brooke Robbins), Boys 4 x 400 (Kyler Bourne, Collin Harris, Chase Preston, Logan Muhlenkamp), Boys high jump (Collin Harris, Isaac Connolly, Cooper Jones), Boys pole vault (Kyler Bourne, Grant Grieshop).
 
Five 'meet records' and one 'Celina home track record' fell during the competition.  Carlee Siefker of Leipsic jumped 18' 4.75" to establish a new CHS track record.  Fort Recovery boys broke the 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 meet records.  Coldwater broke records for the Boys and Girls triple jump, as well as the 4 x 400.

Celina, Bellmont, Bradford Tri Meet 2019

Runnin' Women WIN, Men take second in Tri Meet action. 
 
Celina's Runnin' Bulldogs hosted Decatur Bellmont (IN), and Bradford TUesday, April 2.  The Gals topped there opponents, scorng 90.5 points, 15 more than Bellmont's 75.5.  Bradford was third with 9.  On the Men's side of the ledger Bellmont took first with 92.  The Dogs were second (67), Bradford third (16).
 
Highlighting the meet was the Celina Track Record performance of Bellmont's Ryne Norby.  He leaped 22' 10", besting the previous mark ,set in 2009, by over 5".
 
Celina's 'Top Dog' performances came from individual event winners: Makenna Klingshirn (100m hurdles), Emma Lutz (1600m run), Olivia Rider (high jump), Kayla McCormick (pole vault), Kyler Bourne (pole vault), Karissa Hoying (long jump), Stephanie Wadsworth (shot put), and Seth Huston (Shot put).  Relay wins came from the Girls 4 x 800m, 4 x 200m, and 4 x 100m as well as all four of the boys relays 4 x 800m, 4 x 200m, 4 x 100, 4 x 400m.

Celina vs Spencerville Dual 2019

Runnin' Bulldogs open season with dual meeet wins over Spencerville.
 
The 2019 Celina Track & Field season got under way, Tuesday, March 26, as the Bulldog tracksters hosted Spencerville.  Both the Boys and Girls came away with wins.  The Guys won 94-42, while the Gals tallied 78 to Spencerville's 58.
 
Invidivually, Celina was lead by double winner Kyler Bourne.  Kyler took first in the pole vault and 300m hurdlers.  Single event winners included: Caleigh Ross (3200m), Emma Lutz (800m), Makenna Klingshirn (300m hurdles), Reilly Cox (long jump), Brook Robbins (pole vault), Zoey Burns (400m), Stephanie Wadsworth (shot put), Ryan McDonough (800m), Jacob Klosterman (3200m), Ethan Ly (1600m), Isaac Connolly (long jump), Luke Muhlenkamp (400m), and Seth Huston (shot put).
 
Celina took first in both the guys and gals 4 x 800 relays, 4 x 200 relays and the boys 4 x 400 relay.

State Indoor Track & Field Championship!

Three Bulldogs compete in the State Indoor Championship Meet!
 
Saturday, March 2 three CHS Tracksters competed in the Ohio Association of Track Cross County Coaches (OATCCC) Indoor Track & Field Championship Meet.  The meet was held at teh Spire Institute, Geneva, Ohio.
 
The day began with Isaac Connolly taking part in the Division I boys triple jump.  Isaac placed 22nd witha best leap of 35' 1.5".
 
In the afternoon session Olivia Rider and Reilly Cox jumped in the high jump and triple jump respectively.  Olivia cleared 4' 10", taking 18th, while Reilly jumped a career best 30' 11.5", good for 12th place.

Tiffin Indoor Meet 2019

Runnin' Bulldogs compete at Tiffin University's H S Open on Feb 10.
Fifteen Celina Tracksters took part in an indoor meet at Tiffin University, February 10.  The indoor competitions give the athletes early preparation for the outdoor season, which begins March 4.  Top Celina efforts were turned in by Olivia Rider (HJ, Brooke Robbins (PV), and Jordan Song (LJ).
