To stay up-to-date on what we are learning about in music class, parents are invited to check in on their son/daughter's Music Google Classroom. Mrs. Dobmeyer posts links to the videos we watch in class, many of the interactives and games we play, and songs we sing in class. Students are always welcome and encouraged to access the music google classroom to review or extend their learning from class, or to catch up on what was taught when they miss a day of music class.
Students receive 40 minutes of music instruction once every THREE days of school.
During those 40 minutes, the students will sing vocal exercises and songs, learn to play instruments,
move to music, listen and evaluate the quality of music performances,
learn basic music literacy, and create their own music compositions.
Mrs. Dobmeyer has her own
youtube channel, "Mrs. Dobmeyer". She creates videos that will reinforce concepts from class- vocal exercises, rhythm reading drills, ear training, and more! Students are encouraged to view the videos and follow instructions to build upon their skills learned in class!
a web based interactive music curriculum that covers all of Ohio's music standards,
and is full of fun! Check out
QuaverEd.com! Each student is given their own
Quaver Student Account in the first week of 3rd grade music class, which will allow them to access
assignments, and explore many different educational music games and activities on their own!
The third grade students take a field trip in December
to the Ft Wayne ballet to see The Nutcracker!
We spend a few weeks in music class familiarizing ourselves
with the music and ballet dance genre of The Nutcracker,
so that we may fully appreciate this opportunity!
