What is PBIS?

Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS) is a broad range of systemic and individualized strategies for achieving important social and learning outcomes in school communities while preventing problem behavior. The key attributes of PBIS include preventive activities, data-based decision making, and a problem solving orientation (www.education.ohio.gov).

The Core Components of PBIS:
*Community Connections
*Clear Expectations
*Comprehensive Instruction
*Consistent Systems of Acknowledging and Correcting Behaviors
*Supportive Structure

PBIS at CES = #BeABulldog

BE A BULLDOG at Celina Elementary means to follow our four school-wide expectations of...
     *Be Safe
     *Be Respectful
     *Be Responsible
     *Be Here
Recognizing positive behaviors and following the school-wide expectations starts with students earning Bulldog stickers. After earning 5 Bulldog stickers, which are recorded on punch cards, students take their punch cards to the office in exchange for a gum ball. Their punch cards then get put into a bi-weekly #BeABulldog drawing where students have the opportunity to earn prizes such as Bulldog t-shirts, Bulldog cups, candy, snacks, drinks, eat-lunch-with-a-friend passes, homework passes, and more.

Other #BeABulldog activities include:
     *Monthly Bulldogs of the Month
     *Town Hall/Live Announcements
     *Quarterly reward parties
     *Character Word of the Day
     *Monthly Guidance Lessons
